I do not know how many realised this but 02 JJ nitez signify the end of J2 Ogls. It's time to pass over the rein to the J1 Ogls. It did not struck me until it was time for the song-singing session. Right up until then, I was enjoying myself, going crazy over mass dance with Mia. But then reality struck. It waould be the last time that I would be wearing an Ogl shirt doing an Ogl duty. There was to be no more opportunity for me again to do so. It's been a long journey. But it has to end. Thus, with a heavy heart, for the first time ever, I celebrate JJ nitez in a solemn mood. Orientation....it's where my JJ life begins and it's where the fun part of my JC life ends. I'm not going to enjoy it but I've to let it go. Too much sacrifice has been given being an Ogl. But all I can say is that....IT"S WORTH IT!!!
Some of the prominent events that I've taken part in since Feb 2005;
1) Preparation of Á'level results; This is where I first got to know Farid and Qamarul, after we stayed back till 10+ to put banners up outside the hall
2) Orientation 02; Won the best family award, make some great friends here and broke quite a few tables as my job as dance-attach =X
3) Pre-U seminar; Feels like the continuation of Orientation, only this time with students from other JCs
4) Councillor investiture; Will always remember this event since it falls on my birthday, Shuyun, in her excitement of being a councillor, only remembers my birthday 3 secs after midnite came =s The formation of SU( Students' usher) with me as one of the founding member=))
5) Parent-teacher meeting; Su was called in for the job. The first time I get to know Ms Loon. And she treat the whole of SU to Swensons.
6) Dramafest [ushering]; Was notified of the job at a short notice. Nevertheless, it went well and I enjoyed the dramas =)
7) Project leader camp; Part of the most enthu group in the camp. We won everything, from cheers to games. The MAIN reason why I didnt do well for my J! year.
8) Harmony works [ushering]; Although there were many usherers, ppl from Su did the job best.
9) Fireflyz opening ceremony; Was the VIP usher. Had fun till late night in school until the police came =s Although not a member, I'm still active in some of fireflyz activities.
10) J2 Prom nitez; 5 members from SU, including me, was roped in to help usher.Watch my first ever after-midnite movie. Wander around orchard till it's morning when it's time to head back to school for a compulsory Ogl dry run meeting.
11) 2006 o1 orientation; 10x times better than my orientation. Shld have won the best family award again if follow the point system. The start of the end.
12) Revelation 2006; Wanxian did most of the job. Had fun playing daidi & bridge till late nite in her house.
13) Manado OCIP; My most memorable JJ event ever, simply bcos it's an oversea trip, my first in 6 years.Took photos with at least 200 girls there =X Was introduced to the concept of 'humbly rich'.
14) JJ nitez 02; The end of the start.
There you have it. An average of one event per month. And it's not the most comprehensive list yet. I've excluded some events which I think are minor. And they may be also some which I've forgotten. But one thing for certain, I've no regrets joining any of the events =)))...ciao
