Damn it. My worst nightmare just arrived just now. I finally receive my enlistment letter and I've been posted to the ... Police Academy! I am so super disappointed. I've been hoping and hoping to get into an army unit for years. I even joined an all guys NPCC unit so that there would be an increase chance that I would be enlisted into the army. I didnt join the NCC unit cos I think the training will be slack since it's a combined guys-girls training. I dont regret joining NPCC but at the back of my mind, there's always a slight suspicion that I'll be enlisted into the police as I hold an important leadership role and has a high rank in my unit. But even then, I keep hoping against hope that I would be enlisted into the army. But I think the odds is stack heavily against me since I'm also the only son in my family. They wont risk me if they can help it. I wonder if police training is slack...I sure hope not. I'll die out of boredom if it is.
Another point of note is that my enlistment is in April!!! What the heck am I suppose to do for the 4mths after my As ?!? I purposely failed my Nafta so that I can have an early enlistment but even this is not given to me =s I'll be dead bored until my enlistment. This is even worse than the aftermath of O level.
Ohh well, now that this has happen, I've to take it in my stride right? It's not like I can appeal to enlist in the army or sth. I now have the chance that my marksman with a pistol is no fluke. Also, it shld be much easier to be an officer now. Also, the bunk at PA is much cleaner than other unit's since PA is a newly built building. Then the food is quite nice since it's cook by my classmate's uncle food company and I've personally work for the company and taste the food before. And lastly, it could have been worse. Thank god, its not the SCDF...ciao
